The Livingston family have been restoring furniture in Castle Douglas for three generations.

A D Livingston and Sons was established in 1981 by father and son Alec and Ian Livingston, later joined by Kenny, Ian’s brother. Ian and Kenny continue to use traditional techniques and tools to restore, reupholster and make furniture from their workshop nestled in a restored 18th century courtyard just off the high street, King St, in Castle Douglas.

We work with locals and customers all across the UK including notable institutions such as: National Trust for Scotland, Historic Scotland, Burns Federation and Museums Galleries Scotland.

We are Proud Supporters of the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere. We continue a family long history of maintaining furniture and bringing new life to forgotten gems and heirlooms.
